Food truck eats Manhattan are a trend that has grown tremendously since they first rolled onto the NY food scene in 2007. They have TV shows on the food networks and they’re annual awards for the best foods called the Vendy. Now there are over 50 in New York City alone, vying for coveted spaces to park without being ticketed and harassed by NYPD. Check the websites for latest locations.
Wafels & Dinges
One of the earliest pioneers of the food truck industry started in 2007. Wafels you know, dinges are Belgium for toppings. These freshly made wafels come with whipped icream, ice cream, nutella and other choices that can be mixed.
Excellent California presentation of Mexican foods. Started with one cart in SoHo, now has a restaurant in Brooklyn.
High-quality artisan ice cream sold all-year round. Trucks hang in West Village and SoHo, now has a restaurant in East Village and Brooklyn.
Schnitzel & Things
Early truck vendor started in 2007 serving Austrian schnitzels, hand-pounded cutlets of chicken or veal. Opened mid-town restaurant.
Another early purveyor of sweets started in 2007 by a former pastry chef. Known to hang on Astor Place. Has opened restaurant on the Lower East Side.
Food Truck Eats Manhattan are mostly located in mid-town Manhattan because office workers are the major market during the week. Also check their Twitter page latest locations, because of parking rules in NYC they may have to move locations because of traffic enforcement agents.
